I thought about Carhartt, but that damned brown cotton duck is so friggin' stiff.
It softens up after a few washings, just like you. But really, it's some great stuff. Carhartt.com or dungarees.com. I have a hoodie I've been wearing for 30 years, still looks good, and soft as a baby's bottom.

Yeah, I've owned several Carhartt garments. They're good stuff, but not what I'm looking for.

I got my first m65 from a hand me down from a brother that was in the army while I was still in school.

Bought my current one in the 90s I think.
The tag says Golder or Golden Mfg CC Inc
Made in USA. I think it was 30-40 bucks back then

They are a jacket, and not very warm! 🥶

Buy American and good luck with your search!
