Absolutely a bunch of election year fear mongering causing increase in hoarding and some price gouging. Problem is that you can hardly find any M855 out there at all. May want to look for some bulk and loose without the cans and not on clips, but think that the bulk of the canned lake city stuff is gonna be as hard to find as bigfoot.

Here's an update for ya, the new CtD catalog last night had the Federal 5.56 Nato green tip 420 rd can at 219.79. Higher and higher it goes, whe she stops. Nobody knows.

Undoubtedly prices will continue to climb for the next 6 months at least, and probably likely for 9 months -- until a month or two after the inauguration (regardless of who the winner is), when people will have a better handle on the direction of things.

Hopefully people have on stock what they'll need to ride out this upcoming period. Those who don't are going to be paying higher prices and facing limited availability.

Another problem with cheaper then dirt or any other company that does a lot of paper catalogue sales, they have to set their prices weeks in advance, so places like CTD try to "guess" where they think the market will be in 6 weeks. You have to avoid places like that when your worried about things that will go up in price.

CTD has had the 420 ct SS109's for only $139 for the last 6 months or more.. so it isn't that they are trying to gouge anyone. The beef most people have with CTD is their shipping costs. Even Walmart went up $10 in one day on this same product a couple of months ago.. and haven't been able to get any since. Right now my Walmart can't even get the $40 Federal bulk 100 ct boxes of .223's... their warehouse has been out for months. all I can find is the American Eagle & Russian stuff in 20 ct boxes.

Belle Isle Walmart in OKC near Penn Square mall is overflowing with the 100 count .223 ammo. About the only calibers I ever see them out of is 9mm and .40S&W, but usually after about a week they're stocked up to the brim.
