Weather is clearing and I may have a chance to make some ingots.
Anyone want to play with some lead melting!

I have been rearranging my wood piles etc in the back yard and need a break.
Might as well use the small stuff to melt some lead.

I have a nice wind block ..and will be done soon ..just one more pan to melt down.
I know a certain someone who will be happy ..as he dropped off the wheel weights yesterday.

Hey OSA fix the clock.
Or not!
Finished with my ingot making.
The wheel weight was 71 lbs including buckets
The ingots weigh 57 lbs not including buckets.
Not bad..not any zinc or steel wheel weights in the entire lot.

I wished I had seen this earlier. I would like to watch what you are doing. Never have done such. And I could have got to see your Truck. Maybe next time.

No not yet..but i think pewter is mostly tin and adding it to the mix will help fill out the molds and make for harder boolits.
I can melt about anything though.

You may be going a different direction with that question..
Like making things from pewter.

The black powder guys live for those finds. Just remember most of the lead pipes are pure lead and you'll want to add some tin and/or antimony for centerfire.
