Are you wanting to camp or stay in a motel/cabin? There is prmitive camping at McGee creek, and I believe there are some cabins around there as well. Check out http://www.fireflyhollow.net/. It is between Atoka and Antlers, both of which have motels.

We're kinda spoiled.
We did the cabin on the lake thing the last couple of years when we went to Ouachita, but the whole hook/unhook every time we wanted to go into town got old by the end of the second day. So if there are decent accommodations in town, that'd be great. We're just not familiar with the area at all.
ETA: Not opposed to a cabin, by the way.
Marriot? Apparently you're not familiar with the area! heh I would say cabin is going to be your best bet.
I've never ventured much east of I-35, and even then 99% of it has been along the I-40 corridor on my way out of the state.
It is pretty rural down here. Closest big towns are going to be Durant and McAlester, about 45 minutes either way.
Check out the huts at the state park.
Don't know if they're still in business, since I haven't stayed there since 2007, but they were quiet little trailer/cabins.
