yes, what hes explaining is done all the time. I remember Harley Davidson did that for 20 years or more to hold their prices up.Are you talking about the video I posted?
Nope, the math is all wrong and the guy in the video has trouble constructing a full sentence. lolMath seems wrong 2,290 per head for the meat packer.
You may get 400 lbs of meat off an animal.
400 lbs times 5 bucks a pound is $2000 bucks.
the Guy selling the cattle makes some money.
you would be paying 10 bucks a pound for beef ..surely it is not that much
Thats bogglingNo sir. It’s correct. I’ll try to find you some info to prove it. I’ve heard this same number from many sector’s of the cattle industry.
Yes it is. There are investigations going on, supposedly ordered by Trump. I’ll gladly admit that an investigation doesn’t make someone guilty. I’m not even convinced packers are doing anything illegal but I do know they are making big profits while those on both sides of them are takin a hit. I mainly posted to say there is an explanation for this so called meat shortage and it’s not all because of this virus. I realize the guy in the video isn’t a polished speaker but based on what I hear throughout the beef chain, he explains it pretty well.Thats boggling

Hmmm, yes I didI think you quoted wrong post???
The wife wanted some pork chops yesterday. I needed to go to Wally World to pick up a prescription so I checked the meat department. Not a SINGLE package of pork of any kind! Went to Crest and the selection was ok. Still didn’t have regular thin cut chops. They had a ‘breakfast’ cut that was a tiny thing or thick cut butterfly chops. Y’all know which one I picked! The Mrs doesn’t like the thick cut usually but you can’t be picky right now.
That being said, just had a piece of backstrap for lunch.
Go to Cossey's and ask for the stuffed bone in chops. mmmmI like to buy the pork loins from Aldi and cut my own chops as they are so tender if cooked right. Lately it has been hit or miss on finding them. To bad as I also use it to cut stir fry pork and pork roast.
