Illegal mezcal (actual name) is available here and is VERY good, also pretty pricey (around $60). There are a number of others; alipus, el buho, Los nahuales, Maria, mijes, pierde almas, sombre. All of these are available here, but you will probably have to get your local store to order them for you.

The best mescal I ever drank came across the river in 5L plastic jugs. A friend from around Mexico City would bring it back with him. It was as good as scotch but would slap you. Drink it neat, or sip it with some sangrita (not sangria)as a chaser.
Monte Alban used to be about the only one easily found, but I've seen an increase in brands of late. Not nearly as popular as tequilas tho.
