Mosin troubleshooting help....

A buddy and I were out shooting this morning....he's blasting away with his Mosin M44....after a few rds, he fires a shot, and tries to eject the casing and he can't get the bolt to rotate up so that he can eject the spent casing....has anybody encountered this? If so, we could use some help to get this solved...its locked up.

What type of ammo was he using? If it is some of the laquer coated stuff it can become sticky after the rifle's chamber gets hot causing the bolt to stick.

Rubber mallet.

as a matter of fact, it was lacquer ammo....will tell him to use the rubber mallet too..lol
