I’m looking for a scope for my Rem700 .50 cal muzzleloader. I’m not a scope guy so I would appreciate any insight and if someone has something up for sale I’m open. I made the draw for a hunt in the panhandle and my open sights aren’t going to be sufficient or so I’ve been told. I normally hunt close range and use my irons. Thank you.

I have experience with Nikon ml scopes. They work excellent imho. The bad new, Nikon isn’t making scopes anymore. But you can find the FS here and there. They have reference lines in them for holdover with your preferred bullet and powder load.

3x9 should be perfect for your needs. I think mine cost me $179 when I bought it new!

Regards,

I’m formulating a list of everyone’s recommendations, then I’ll see what I can come across. I appreciate it. Cost isn’t necessarily a prohibitive, just want a good outcome. Thanks Josh

For a black powder main thanks is gonna be keeping 0, you’re not gonna shoot far enough to need to break the bank. That simmons has a built on level as well it was basically an entry level large caliber scope which makes it perfect for a black powder. I’ve seen them on hibid a couple times you might find a steal in there.

I would sell this with rings for $250 if you’re interested. It’s in great shape only has been on a 22.
