I recently acquired a .308 rifle build and I am trying to learn what I can. I will attach pictures of the action and barrel. The barrel is a stainless bull barrel with threaded end, no markings other than .308 Win. I have no idea what this action is. All help appreciated.
This is all a first for me so thanks a ton. I have another that has Fabrique Nationale Herstal stamped on it. It has a fluted/threaded barrel (no manufacturer) and the same trigger. Both have Boyd’s stocks. Identifying the action for me is a huge help.
Yep, '98 Mauser action, Bold trigger. Looks like a commercial action, though, rather than a military action. No thumb cut on the left side of the receiver. Looking good!

That's a Mauser action. Probably a gunsmith special from a surplus junker gun - bet it started life as a straight bolt coz it looks like the bolt handle's been cut and welded and shaped and the bolt knob is right for a straight bolt gun like a VZ24 or similar - this doesn't have the flat under the knob like a K98 does. However, those look like waffenamps on the right side above the stockline. The shroud's been cut and polished to remove the safety too, along with the bolt looking like it's been polished. If they did all the right work, I bet it's a shooter.

you guys are a great help. So here is the action on the second gun and pictures of the complete setup. Tell me what I have. I was looking for deer guns, but ended up in over my head with these. Super heavy guns also. All this info is getting me really interested in these guns. Currently looking up what wafflenamps are

A few more pics of the action out of the stock would be helpful for the second gun. Does it have the thumb cut in the left receiver wall?
