So was it only .22 (incl .223) caliber that was restricted? What about other calibers?
Correct. Only .22 caliber centerfire magazine capacity was restricted for deer hunting.

Yes, I proposed that change and it was passed.
Update: This summer I submitted a proposal to legalize the pistol caliber carbines for deer hunting. Currently this proposal is still alive, the process is in the agency review stage right now and next step will be the public forums later this fall.
Good deal. I’ve killed a couple deer with a 1911 in .45acp. That round would perform even better in a PCC.
My preferred carry gun is a WC 1911 in 45, and I really want an AR in 45 acp for pigs. That would be fun!
