You have to look around, but dealers will sale at cost or just over. I pretty much called every dealership in Oklahoma, then into Texas, I found a couple in Texas, $500 over cost. Sometimes you just have to drive for a good deal. After all that, I decided with the 8K tow rating and the price, I'd rather have a 1 ton diesel. It may have changed since I bought my truck last year, but at the time the 6.2L was available only in the Raptor. Actually the last 2 Fords I bought, I drove to OKC to buy, Tulsa Ford dealers are horrible...

You should call Ford's customer service line and let them know. They don't appreciate this sort of thing. I work pretty close with the media reps at Ford, they really don't like dealerships that do that.
They don't like it, but there's not a hell of a lot they can do about it--the laws that govern the franchising of dealerships are tilted heavily in the favor of the dealers. Ford and GM (and probably Chryco) have been trying to weed out the bad dealers for years, and it's damn near impossible unless the dealer gets caught being involved in criminal activities.

$500 over cost

Bottom line or Manager's Magic?

Serious question, based on experience with dealers bringing back a "lower price" with a higher bottom line. Usually if you can find an invoice dealer, the only place for the price to go is up unless it's been on the lot quite a while (assuming new). My favorite conversation is when someone tells me "this store gave me $3K more for my trade-in" without realizing the bottom line was $5K more than other dealers.

They didn't seem fond of me when we were buying our most recent car and I was running every number they gave me.

I love playing the numbers game with a dealership. Just to much fu. Calling all their BS!
They don't like it when you know all their tricks and know the "real" numbers before you even go in there.
It also helps to have a 2 Sales Managers as good friends to help coach you at another dealership too lol

I drove to Dallas to buy my last Ford.

Steven's Ford in Enid is(or was at least 10 years ago) an invoice dealer...........both truck buying experiences were very straight forward, unless their invoices were fake, lol.

Bottom line, they had to order it though, I built it on Fords website, sent it to them, it was $52-53 MSRP, price was OTD was $49k and change, going off memory it was a year ago. They had 2 on the lot but were optioned out and not the color I wanted. There are good dealers out there, you just have to find them, it took me a week of calls, email, and chats to find a good one.
