I don't think it's so much that lefties hate police arresting criminals... I think it's a matter of perception. The web and news sensationalize videos of police going too far, err go, liberals think all police always go too far. The media does this on purpose.

It's no different than seeing the same clips of riots, then associating every protester to be criminals. The media forces this perspective too.
