NWTF Kids day

I was a big part of a National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) Jakes Day put on today for kids 8-17. We had just over 50 kids show up for canoeing, archery, rock climbing wall, and turkey 101. We finished up the day with a hot dog cook out. It was a tremendous success and I hope we can make it even bigger and better next year. I believe for several of the kids it was there first opportunity to experience the activities we put on today.

Congrats for volunteering to help the kids get started in the hunting/fishing sports. We need a lot more adult mentors to get the parents, and then the kids involved.
IMHO the parent is the driving force.
You can take a kid out all day long and if the parent is not going to follow up, the sucess rate is going to be low.
