The only thing I dislike about the in thread ad placement is how they force scroll bars on the post.

I've seen forum ads between the 1st post and the 2nd post of the thread. I think I like that better, but the in-post ads don't really bother me.

In what way? I'm not seeing any scroll bars or breakup in any way. Can you provide a screen shot of it and perhaps what version of browser you're running?
