Every time we pulled into Perth, Australia on the very far west coast Olivia Newton-John would host as many Sailors and Marines and I think about anyone else who wanted to come along for a huge party at her house.
We didn’t moor at Perth, we had to stay at Fremantle because of the USS Blue Ridge’s wide berth. We took a train back and forth, one day I look up and Olivia Newton John is on the train coming back from Perth. She asked if we are coming out and it was all this 20 year old kid could do from not exploding is just be as nice as an Okie could be.
