Edit to add. For it to be good on a 5.56 it will be a lot bigger than needed for a 9mm.

Possibly diameter and length. Overall construction should be heavier on a 5.56 rated suppressor than needed for a 9mm handgun suppressor.

I got a 36M to cover most everything first. I've been very happy with it and it's gotten several friends into suppressors too so it's not too shabby.
Shorten it up for pistol stuff, full length for rifle stuff.
