P22 Internal Lock?

Why would I want a Walther P22 without an internal lock?

I found two units one with an internal lock (normal model) and one without an internal lock. I am trying to decide which one to get or does this option even matter on this gun.

I don't think it matters unless you shoot somebody then a lawyer will have your butt.

I do not understand? This is a factory option and not some hack in their garage.

Then I'd get the one without the lock. Why have another piece of uselessness to possibly break?

I've never use the lock on mine, but when I'm not shooting it I put it in the safe. Some people don't have a safe so the lock would help to prevent an accidental discharge if one of the kids got ahold of it.
