A yellow "reverse swastika" (a symbol for the thunderbird from one (or more) of the tribes) was the shoulder patch insignia for the 45th Infantry Division (Oklahoma National Guard) prior to WWII; they changed it to the current insignia due to the similarity to the Nazi swastika. (IIRC, the other difference between the thunderbird symbol and the swastika is that the Nazi symbol is rotated 45 degrees where the thunderbird lines are vertical and horizontal.)
