Pictures not displaying

I've noticed that photos within threads I'm reading are not showing up anymore, only a "white period" where the picture should be.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is something in my forum settings or browser settings doing this?

It is doing this on two different computers that I use.

OK, just checked a couple other forums and I'm not getting photos there either, so it must be something in my browser settings. I'm running IE 8 and have "show pictures" selected in the multimedia section of Tool - Advanced tab.

Any suggestions from any PC gurus?

OK, looks like my "Free" WIFI hotspot provider OU Med Center has started blocking image hosting sites like photobucket and image shack, probably others too. I should be fine from home.

What??? You mean the OU Med Center won't even let you look at "gun" porn?
