There is a tyrannical government halfway around the world in a civil war with several factions that want to replace it with a variety of other types of government -- some somewhat less tyrannical, and some probably just as bad or worse.

In any case, it doesn't concern out country in the slightest, and we need to stay the hell out. We don't need to get involved with supervision of chemical weapons or anything else. If individual Americans want to take up arms and join the fight on one side or the other, they should not be prevented from doing so... but no one should be forced to pay a dime in taxes to support intervention.

Putin makes some good points about the possible unintended consequences of intervention; but all that drivel about the importance of maintaining international law and order, and that the law is the law and we have to obey it whether we like it or not, is a bunch of one world statist bousheit. Intervention would still be just as bad of an idea even if it got a unanimous vote by the Security Counsel.

This is exactly how this problem needs to be handled. Very well said.

Just because the UN thinks we should jump off a bridge does not mean we should.

Isn't this the same guy that told the rest of the world to back off when he invaded Chechinya (sic)? Not to mention that he's exceptionally adept at manipulating Russian politics to become the de facto president for life.
I'm not saying we should go to Syria. In my opinion if Al Queda and the Muslim Brotherhood want to topple Bassar (Bassear? Brazier?), they can handle it themselves.

Can't trust either. Putin makes good-sounding points, but everyone knows the Russians are going to do whatever they want, including arms trade. And so will we! Putin just has so much more chutzpah than Obama.
