Quail outlook for 2010?

Has anyone seen a forecast for quail this year? Its been a LOOOOOng time since Ive been quail hunting and the numbers were going down at that time. Id really like to hit the fields this year but kind of wondering what to expect and where.

I haven't read anything official but I've seen more quail this year than the last 5 years around here.

call one of your area biologists. They should be able to give you some good info. They should be listed in the hunting regs

^^This. Or wait until September-ish and the Wildlifedepartment Quail Roadside survey will be out for the state.

talked to a landowner in sw oklahoma a few weeks ago, he said he was seeing some birds on the roads.

i have been seeing a lot of quail this year,some reports say it is down from last year but i can go out back and call them ,

go dove hunting and keep a eye out for them

i jumped a big covey on my little 80acre lease this morning. 20+ birds i'd guess

i think they have been getting alot better in the last 5 years...but havent heard anything official...
