Her point is not driving, that is a privelige. Here point is that you can't get prescription drugs, hell, you can't buy some OTC mds without a driver's license. Can't rent a hotel room, can't buy alcohol, can't open a checking account, that ID is used for a lot of things. I personally don't like the idea of biometrics either.

There are other valid IDs besides the MV license. Blind people use em all the time.

Per Bell v Burson, a motor vehicle license is somewhere between a privilege and a right.

That's just in motor vehicles. You have a right to drive some other vehicles.

Are you familiar with this?

"The right of a citizen to travel upon the public highways and to transport his property thereon, by horse-drawn carriage, wagon, or automobile is not a mere privilege which may be permitted or prohibited at will, but a common right which he has under his right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." -Slusher v. Safety Coach Transit Co., 229 Ky 731, 17 SW2d 1012, affirmed by the Supreme Court in Thompson v. Smith 154 S.E. 579

Was Thompson v. Smith overturned?

Thompson v Smith was a case heard in the Supreme Court of Virginia. It was never heard by the SCOTUS.

It's probably not a good idea to just copy/paste something from "www.nothugcops.com" and take it seriously.
