I have an old winchester 190 that I have literally put thousands of rounds through with not one failure to fire I can remember, and what is sad is I have never cleaned it. it was my first gun.
I have the Remington 597 and it seems to fire any copper jacketed ammo it sure tears up the non plated stuff though
My 10/22 loves the Remington and hates the Federal. My M&P15-22 is just the opposite.
But they both do great on Winchester, so that's what I buy now. It's a little more expensive but that's okay.
It seems impossible to predict what .22LR ammo is going to work well in a particular gun, especially 10/22s, which seem to be all over the map.

i have bought my last remington rim fire. shot at a wasp nest on a rafter in my barn watched the bullet get almost up to the wasp nest about 20 feet up & it just fell back to the ground in front of me. made adud sound when it went off. was shooting ruger auto target pistol. if i had lodged in barrel next shot could have bad out come
