I bought a VERY used 22a-1 yesterday for cheap. Do any of you fellers own one of these? What are your thoughts about this model?

It looks like a Buck Rodgers gun, but if it's a good shooter, I may hang on to it.

Oh yeah, does anyone make aftermarket grips for this gun?

Thanks for any insite.

I've got one I picked up off CoolJeff a couple years ago.
I shoot the crap out of it from time to time when the family gets together.
Keep it lubed and cleaned and it should serve you just fine.

I've got one and like it a bunch, have shot it probably 6 or 700 times.Put a cheap (FM) 2X pistol scope on it, and it seems real accurate. Have heard that they are fussy as to ammo brand/type, but mine isn't. well at least not in decently warm weather. As to aftermarket grips, I cant find any, but S&Ws web site lists 3 factory grips, composite wood target, soft touch, and soft touch with thumb rest.
