Shooting at Grand Casino Shawnee

SHAWNEE, Okla. - One person is dead and another injured after what appears to be an attempted murder-suicide at the Grand Casino in Shawnee.

The Pottawatomie County sheriff told KFOR that two employees at the Grand Casino in Shawnee were involved in a shooting in the administrative area of the casino around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

At this time, officials say it appears to be an attempted murder-suicide.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, officials told KFOR.

The other person was transported to a local hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Their condition is unknown at this time.

The two employees have been identified as 28-year-old Justin Wells and 22-year-old Matt Palmer.

Authorities have not confirmed which employee was killed in the shooting.

During a press conference around 2 p.m., investigators identified the victim as 22-year-old Matt Palmer and the shooter as 28-year-old Justin Wells.

"Authorities first responded around 7 a.m. to a report of an "officer down" at the casino. When they arrived, they learned that two casino employees had been shot, according to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's office."

I'd say a google search would pretty much end any speculation. He was all over the internet on forums and posted his name and employment info. And I'm sure the authorities know of it all by now.
