I'd say a google search would pretty much end any speculation. He was all over the internet on forums and posted his name and employment info. And I'm sure the authorities know of it all by now.

Exactly, it's open source and trying to hide it will only make it more troublesome. However, it's Steve's forum and if he wants to not talk about it, that's how it will be.

We're not trying to hide anything, I just don't think it's a good idea to throw one of our users out there without knowing that it's definitely them. Is there anyone here that knows 100% that our user and this guy are the same person? Did anyone ever meet our user?

We can talk about the name he had on other forums, I just don't want anyone saying our user with that screen name and this guy are the same person unless they can verify it 100%. Is that cool?

I understand that. Don't know anything though... I did a Google search and found his name and FB profile, which I can't see, since I don't do FB. No idea about any forums, though.
