No more cliche than "All my guns were lost in a boating accident."

That got old after the first 50 times I heard/read it. And, it never shows any signs of dying.

everytime I hear someone on the news talking about gunfire everyone says "I heard these loud pops, it sounded like fireworks" that makes me crazy, I don't think gunshots sound like fireworks at all.
