For the sake of keeping this thread on life support:

While I love the looks of my Colt SAA, I'm a huge fan of three screw Blackhawks. I've got two in .357, one .41 mag, and another in 45 Colt. I tried to justify a .30 carbine, but I can't. Unfortunately the collectors have started to figure out the Blackhawks by now, so prices are 50-75% more than they were just a couple of years ago.

However, I would argue in favor of manufacturers like Standard Manufacturing or USFA against the Colt if the owner wanted something more (quality) than just the name recognition.

My two best-made by far and away though are my Freedom Arms 83 in .454 Casull, and my 97 in .41 mag. Cheap no, but you can feel why they made your wallet light.
