Smoked Bologna

Any of you folks fans of smoked bologna?
If you haven’t tried it I’d encourage you to try it.


Here’s a couple pics a friend shared of how he smokes his. I’m definitely going to try it this summer.

Hell yeah! Big fan. So much better than the slices we had as kids where Mom would cut the sides with a fork when heating up on the skillet so wouldn't curl up. Never tried it like pictured - bloomin' onion style! First thought is that might be too smoky since looks like it penetrated almost the entire bologna chub. I'll score the chub but not that deep or just cut rings about 2"-3" thick.

Always thought a 'true' BBQ place had to have bologna on the menu.

Any of you folks fans of smoked bologna?

I don't know. But I'd sure as hell give a pound or two a try. You know...so I could really judge whether or not I liked it.

Holy crap that looks good, is that rub all he put on it?

yep, love smoked bologna, but never made it like this. I slice the chub all around with about 1/2" cuts, rub with Mustard and Dan O's rub. But this looks awesome and I will have to try it.

I'll do a bologna roll and same time, 4 rolls of Jimmy Deans maple sausage painted with Maple Syrup, thats like sausage candy. Let it cool, slice and eat it cold right out of the fridge. I cant walk by the fridge without stopping to get a slice.

This makes me miss Dougan's BBQ in Ponca. It was the best BBQ I ever had. Doesn't matter if it's lips and buttholes, tasty tasty.
