Hoyt "Sky" longbow, Matthews Legacy, and a Ten Point Turbo xlt.
Why are the heavier arrows faster? I wonder if you could get heavier than that and speed it up a little more? I would think the heavier the arrow, the better it would be for killing/penetrating.Alright so I went to the bow shop today and got my arrows weighed and shot both bows through the chrono. The arrows that I got with the Mathews Monster XLR8 I am now using with my Diamond Liberty. Here are the new specs and speeds.
Diamond Liberty 70# 29"
Easton Flatline Surgical 400 arrows = 350gr.
3 shots = 294, 294, 293
67 ft-lbs of kinetic energy
Mathews Monster XLR8
Beeman ICS Hunter 340 arrows = 398gr.
3 shots = 319, 319, 318
90 ft-lbs of kinetic energy
Im adding 1" of draw to the XLR8. It currently has 28.5" draw modules, but I have some 29.5" modules on the way and should be here the end of next week. That will probably add 5-10 more fps.
