Haven't seen the new xlt, I do agree about the compactness. My daughter took her first deer this fall with it. Her, myself and the bow fit in the blind with plenty of room to spare.

Alright so I went to the bow shop today and got my arrows weighed and shot both bows through the chrono. The arrows that I got with the Mathews Monster XLR8 I am now using with my Diamond Liberty. Here are the new specs and speeds.

Diamond Liberty 70# 29"
Easton Flatline Surgical 400 arrows = 350gr.
3 shots = 294, 294, 293
67 ft-lbs of kinetic energy

Mathews Monster XLR8
Beeman ICS Hunter 340 arrows = 398gr.
3 shots = 319, 319, 318
90 ft-lbs of kinetic energy

Im adding 1" of draw to the XLR8. It currently has 28.5" draw modules, but I have some 29.5" modules on the way and should be here the end of next week. That will probably add 5-10 more fps.

Why are the heavier arrows faster? I wonder if you could get heavier than that and speed it up a little more? I would think the heavier the arrow, the better it would be for killing/penetrating.
