It's obvious you never looked at the others in the room's body language. nancy's huge bony open fingered hand waving and chuckie's head hanging?
Poor Pence is my favorite. What should he say? What should he say?
Nothing is always the best option for a man who's just biding his time. He doesn't want to look like an idiot.

Business as usual it was not. Trump loves shaking the box at the start of a negotiation. Brash! Uncouth!

...anyone else notice the Marine Corps and Navy flags? The bust is Churchill, I think.

The poor VP is always the fifth wheel.

The Army flag is there too. I don't see the Air Force flag but that doesn't mean it isn't there. It Probably is there.
Quite a bit of thought goes into the staging of every episode.

Edit: Air Force flag is visible from some angles

It's worthwhile considering the Democratic party's style of doing business and how we got to this point. The enemy of the Democratic Party always seems to be .... the Republican Party. They want to concede to all foreign entities but will fight the republicans with everything they have.

Republicans who have been lulled/corrupted into going along with them fare poorly. The majority of the voting public has caught onto the absurdity of democratic positions and the weakness of the republicans and so Trump was born: the absurd TV reality star, brash billionaire who does not play along nicely.

The optics of the situation depend entirely on the mindset of the observer. Those who believe the Democrats hold the moral high ground can find plenty to mock about Trump's style. Those who believe the current state of government needs a reset can cheer Trump as the disruptor who wrestles down and dirty in the mud. Trump's points in the meeting are almost irrefutable. Pelosi and Schumer need to operate in darkness instead of letting the public see them get the worst of it. Why can't we have an open debate between the two sides about the Wall? Because the democrats and globalist allies can't win that way - they need to hide behind their media minions.

My wizard's prediction hat is on......Here's how it is all going to shake out:

The Wall will be built.

Border security recommendations will be put into the hands of a panel of engineers. They will design an effective means of greatly reducing illegal border crossings. In places it will be a wall. Elsewhere it may be a fence or sensor network. What ever the engineers say is most cost effective is what will be recommended and approved by the congress and the President. Both parties will be able to claim victory:"The wall was built"..."We built a humane barrier system, instead of a wall"....whatever sounds good the result will be the same
