Five states have some form of firearms restraining order with different legal standards and even here in OK. on the application for a P.O. there's a box a petitioner can check to ask the judge to take all firearms from the accused and stories of it happening. There's enough recognition of false allegations in family/domestic issues for it to be a sub specialty of sorts for lawyers so it would seem logical that a lot of care and thought regarding due process and legal standards needs to go into this issue instead of just emotion or erring on the side of caution.

Yes they do, but it requires certain circumstances even in Ok.

If a person is threatened with a gun, when the person is not in violation of the law, LEO can take the gun from the person that pointed/used it as evidence of a crime if I'm not wrong.
At least that has been my experience.

What are those circumstances? A lot of people who've went through Family Court or the P.O. process say "she said" is all it takes. What legal standard and level of due process is used?

We're talking Family Court and P.O.'s, not criminal investigations.
That clip in the beginning of this thread isn't the whole story. My ears pricked up when I first seen that conference but I felt he was clear that he meant people who posed an immediate threat. I didn't feel threatened by his statements at all. It was more in the vein that Pokinfun is saying IMO.
I think trump is just playing the politics game and has no intention of moving against the 2A.

Trump won by a very narrow margin in 2016.
Trump may pussyfoot around the 2A more than we'd like, after all, he's a very independent small-r Republican and we all knew this from the beginning. you can see his past positions if you have google and 10 minutes.
but before you throw Trump under the bus, let's look at the alternatives.
A damn socialist like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren or Cory Booker. Trump may pussyfoot and talk about limiting guns to 21 or increasing background checks, both of which suck ass... but the alternatives literally want to rip the 2A out of the constitution and strip us to European-level gun laws.
Voting third party or not voting at all is not a neutral vote.
