just killed a copper head crawling across my asphalt drive way , #7.5 shot left a pattern about 8 " wide & about 6" high on the asphalt , at about 10'. very handy pistol.

I did that the other day, except it was a rattle snake and a 20-gauge shotgun. Same result, though: dead snake.
