Picked up another 3" S&W model 65 a few days ago. I'm wanting to turn it into a custom carry gun. So I'm going to send it to Cylinder and Slide to have a few things done to it. I'm really wanting to magna port it.

If not, please explain why

I do not care for ported guns, especially self defense guns. I have given them a fair chance, a Glock and two S&W revolvers. In a SD gun I want the muzzle blast going forward and away from me, not up.

Ported guns are also very loud. I know, I know, guns are supposed to be loud but a ported 357 mag indoors or under a tin roof is loud and distracting.

Never shoot a ported gun at night but have heard that depending on the gun and round, the upward muzzle blast can ruin your night vision.

Ok,

While conventional wisdom would say "no porting", I gotta be the oddball and say port that bad boy! Nothing says sexy like a 3" Magna-Ported K Frame. :)
