Tom Love passes

27,000 employees and growing. They are now opening RV Parks attached to their Travel Plazas so that RV'ers don't have to mix in regular parking. They have been building a lot of hotels/motels adjacent to their Travel Plazas.

Years ago when they operated under the name Musket Corporation I worked for a company that worked with them. I got a lot of phone calls from Larry Dillard, the President IIRC, and his right hand person Reba, as well as some phone calls from Tom Love. I became their go to guy person to contact. I busted my ass and took care of them. They were absolutely a pleasure to deal with, never any problems or issues on their end. Absolutely wonderful to work with. I was never employed by them. I knew one of their daughters quite well, on a professional level, not personal, she proved to be an awesome human, another pleasure to interact with.

You can remember things done nicely some wealthy people or heads of companies can be totally rude nasty people.

When you remember someone who treated you nicely, took care of issues, no matter how rich or famous they are, that tells you a lot about their character and how they live their lives.

I lived in Watonga when they first opened that store. It was nice to be able to get some things after 5pm. His first manager's name was Stubby Burnett, he sure had a good one to get started.

He, and his family, have built a very successful business, created hundreds of jobs, and done much good for our city and state.

Crooked Politicians that are ALL MULTIMILLIONAIRES, somehow, like to trash the evil rich! The truth is the Evil rich in this country pay MOST of the taxes, that keep our nation going! These same evil rich create ALL private secror jobs, that accounts for most of the rest of taxes payed, to keep the parisite politicians fat, and safe! Would anyone actually want to live in a country where NO ONE HAD ANY CHANCE OF GETTING RICH, EXCEPT CROOKED POLITICIANS? I don't think so! That is called Communism/Socialism, RIGHT?

One of my daughters is a Marketing Manager with the Love's organization. She, and two of her ,team returned this week from Salina, UT, south of SLC, when they are about to open another of the large (81 spots) RV center. And Love's will be the sponsor for the Talladega truck race. She and some of her team are headed there shortly to get all of that in place.

Love's seems like a well managed organization, and should continue to grow.

My father in law was a district manager for Loves, he said Mr. Love was a pretty good fella.

Since you have someone on the inside at Love's, I have a suggestion...

...they need to have signs in their restroom stalls that state something to the effect of customers not using their phones while sitting on the commode.

Back a year or two ago, I went into a Loves to go to the bathroom. There were four stalls and all were occupied, and another gentleman was waiting for one as well. Finally, someone left one of the stalls and the gentleman waiting went in for his business. A bit later, he came out after finishing and noticed I was still waiting. He asked me as I started to go in the stall if anyone else had come out.

I stated, "No, and I suspect that they are on the pot with their phones in their hands."

I went in and was done in about 3 minutes or less and came out of the stall. All three of the stalls had been emptied and three guys gave me funny looks as I headed for the sinks. I think I hit a nerve.

If I pop into a commercial restroom in a bit of a hurry, I almost always hear some gentleman carrying on what must be a top secret conversation. I don’t know, but there is just nothing that would be important enough to cause me to linger there any longer than necessary.
