Went out this morning ( it was 24 degrees wind chill ) I've never huntied turkeys in that cold of weather in spring . A single hen came in about 7:15 and that was it for about 15 minutes , then I could hear two gobblers on the land next to ours . I would cluck and they would take their sweet time to answer , but was coming my way . After about half an hour I could tell they were on us and closing the distance . I started calling more aggressive and in about 10 minutes here came 3 toms ,2 jakes and the 9" beard , They were 30 yards away and they would not seperate when finally the bigger one steped out away from the others and the rest is history . The 3" # 5 did the job .
