Try some Hoppes #9 on the paint, let it set for several minutes and hit the barrel and receiver with some super fine steel wool.
I got some stuff with a weird name....its manual spray graffiti remover. I used my cleaning brush and a little elbow grease.....its almost like it was. Now I have to finish the furniture.
this is some stout stuff. it'll take the stripes off a zebra
a little phenol with some methylene chloride should do it
