Others will be along that will know more. But, I think a 22 Nosler Upper will work with the AR15 platform but you'll need a different magazine than the 5.56 / 300blk mag.

Your correct. The 22 nosler is a short action cartridge and will work in the AR 15 platform.
Different mag required. The .22 nosler uses a 6.8 SPC mag that is not expensive.
Good choice in an upper.
