What's causing these rings on my bullets?

Muzzleloaders have different bullet seating jags for the ramrods too.

There are universal bullet seaters, but they are not as good at maintaining concentricity of the round when pushing it into the brass. Better accuracy this way.

Yep it's the profile of the seating stem not matching up to the ogive of the bullet. You might can use epoxy and a bullet to make it match, but the mentioned custom seater would probably be an easier route. The Hornady dies are a knock off of the the Redding seating die. They are excellent and I'll take them or Redding's any day over the standard dies from other makes, the Hornadys are a great die for the money.
