Man, gotta take the kids to see those! One of my regrets is having the chance to jump out of the bomb bay doors of both a 17 and a 24,and being too cheap (or broke) at the time to do it. Back in the early 90's they wanted $300 or $400. I bet that bird has flown the coop.

I told the wife about the chance to fly the P51C for $2200 and she has been trying to talk me into doing it. It's more than I would usually spent on a memory but, not a firearm.

Love, love, love the WWII aircraft. I was able to fly in a B17 a few years ago and what an incredible experience. My old neighbor owns a P51 and I just saw him the other day. We're supposed to get together sometime so I can see the plane up close and personal.

Anyone interested in the B-17 and its stories, pick up this book:

I believe that if I had that amount of loose cash laying around, I'd spend it on something just like that. What a rush!

Just got home for the day and wondering if the weather, cloud cover and all has slowed down the flights of the planes? Anyone been out there? I am seriously considering doing the B-24 tomorrow. Thanks for any input.

My father flew 35 missions over Germany as a bombardier in a B17. 8th Air Force 390th Bomber Group. I wish he was still alive. I'd buy him a ride in the B17. Anyone remember the movie and TV show 12 Oclock High back in the 60s?
