In your momma’s bedroom.
We went on a canoe trip in Canada when I was a kid back in either the 60s or early 70s and we listened to KOMA almost all the way up there.
Now a days you can’t hardly pick them up outside OKC.

Back in the '80s, I lived with a gal that had house a couple of blocks from the tower on SW 4th in Moore. That radio station would literally play over the phone lines she had in the house!! Was never loud --- just soft in the background.

I lived in that neighborhood Plaza Towers which did have KOMA on the phone.
You could take a florescent light bulb and walk between the towers and it would lightly glow.

Middle tower used during the day then the other 2 were fired up at night and you can listen to KOMA in Japan and Hawaii.

Towers have been removed for some time.

People have said they could hear it in the clothes dryer and garage door and some got music in their mouth when wearing braces.

Interesting how the map shows asymmetrical coverage.

Directional tower array. KGWA in Enid has a four tower array that looks like a boxing glove. When they went on the air, they were not allowed to pursue advertisers in OKC area. Their pattern was designed to protect the OKC market. At the time it was developed, it was the most complicated pattern in the country.

KOMA was what they called a "50,000 Watt Clear Channel Station".

My Aunt who lived in Michigan but often "wintered" with us in Oklahoma,,,
Had to put up an antennae at her place on Drummond Island,,,
But she got KOMA 24 hours a day.

I was stationed in Korea from 1974-1975,,,
At night we could get KOMA clear as a bell.

Couldn't ever get it in Europe though.
