I can't support it as long as there is a risk that we'll execute an innocent person, and that risk is very real.

OTOH, nitrogen asphyxiation requires no special equipment or training or safety procedures. You pump nitrogen into the airtight room while remotely monitoring the inmate. When they're dead, you just pump oxygen back in. No special venting of noxious gases needed.

It is my understanding that the drug companies who produce the the drugs used in executions are attempting to limit the supply of the drugs. So I vote for hanging. If done correctly the neck is broken and death is relatively quick. There will always be rope, so no worries about having a method of execution. I also think that the execution should be broadcast on pay per view, and the proceeds should be given to the closest relatives of the victims.

I haven't looked at various gasses for the purpose of execution, but carbon dioxide might be a player. It sneaks up on you and puts you to sleep permanently, as has been demonstrated in many ship holds and other unventilated environments. And, like nitrogen, it isn't going to damage any reusable parts.

It should be quick, cheap as possible and public. I would say firing squad and then probably hanging. Too bad some or most of these people deserve worse and it needs to happen much quicker vs letting them sit in prison for years leaving a major burden to the tax payers and victims/families.

I lived in KSA for 11 years with public beheadings & hand chops weekly. I advocate for hangings. Its cost effective & green. Some folks dont deserve to draw the same breathe good folks do.

I support the death penalty as a deterrent. Not that murderers are necessarily deterred by the death penalty but they will never be able harm another.
