Seriously, I'm stepping out of the box here so try to explain to me in real details with real facts, how this cop isn't being a DB. The video leaves nothing to the imagination or question. Seriously, tell me something that actually defends your position of that other than trolling.

CHenry,
I do not reply to your post for a reason, feel free to do the same.

So my wife just got back from her shift and explained that there was apparently a similar situation in the St John's ER recently where the head of Trauma was apparently toe to toe with a LEO over something like this. You're not working in Tulsa are ya? :D

Nah, I'm just a lowly rural guy. ;)

This is the real question. The city was looking for a way to mitigate their liability. Their hope was to find something in the illegally obtained blood sample which would allow them to place blame on the victim.

The cop was told to hooraw that nurse, and when she didn't play along he lost his ****. Since he was trying to enforce an unspoken policy of the city, he thought they would back him up.

Obviously he's still not used to the fact that cameras are everywhere. Now the city will drop the hammer on him in an effort to cover up the larger issue, and hope that it all goes away.

Ding Ding Ding!!!!

We have a winner folks. They are at risk of him suing for damages against the city.

Of course... that is what this was all about from the very beginning. That BS he was trying to pass off as "it's just for his own protection" is just that... BS.

If there is no blood sample and no PC or any other reason to think that he (the burned truck driver) was impaired, he could conceivably look into filing claim against the city in the pursuit. That's a whole other argument, but the bottom line is, they wanted to get some kind of evidence to turn against him and make it look as if he contributed to the accident. It was downright sneaky and dirty and this is EXACTLY why they became so belligerent and heavy-handed in their attempts to collect his blood sample. They knew they had a limited window of time in which to implicate the guy...

It's like the old advice of NEVER talking to the cops when they question you. ALL statements should be made through a lawyer. Any information you give them will NEVER be used to exonerate you, but ANYthing can be used to hang you. I'm not saying I agree with this 100% of the time, in all situations, but this is advice that is out there.

all I was saying is that anyone directly arguing with a cop is running the risk of being arrested. I think later on I stated that I hand it to her for standing up for what she thought was right.
I don't think I ever said that she should not of stood up to the cop, just there is a risk anytime you do it.

Yeah, this is kind of backpedaling to me, or you really don't understand how important HIPAA laws are, or how seriously they have to be taken. Now don't get huffy on that reply, it's not an insult, it's just that you may not be aware. "She got what she asked for" doesn't translate to what you just posted. If you still believe otherwise, and I'm sure you do, I will agree to disagree, I wasn't the only one that thought that was ridiculous.

Not to mention you had previously stated she took it on herself to be the "defender of rights." Furthering the notion that again.... you don't understand that it's part of her job. What she did is expected of her and she accepted that when she became a nurse, just like every other nurse out there.

You also said she should've called someone right after the defender of rights comment, well anyone that watched the vid saw that she was on the phone with her supervisor and that's when Egocop got pissed.

You followed that whole statement up with that you didn't understand why she was upset she got arrested. So I'm just going to say that I'd wager that as a teacher, if a LEO officer came in to your classroom and arrested you for teaching and defending one of your students when the officer was clearly in the wrong, you'd be pissed. Your stubbornness here is proof, no matter what you say.
