From a search and rescue point of view, I'm kinda excited about this. Allowing us to play with a UAV on a SAR event would be kind of cool. Beats the hell out of kicking the brambles and picking ticks for a week... Maybe some of us in the SAR community will get a chance to field them at some point...

Manned aircraft could do everything everyone is proposing. Drones would not have to be used to monitor wildfires...manned aircraft already can.
