Going to be a lot of upset Bronco owners if it looks like the pic they keep showing, which looks like an s10 Blazer. It's got to have a removable top and a solid front axle. Needs to compete with the Jeep Rubicon, not the Jeep Compass. Problem with the new Bronco, is they're going to have to cater to either the full size bronco guys, or the early bronco guys.........my fear is that it will be something in between and neither crowd will be happy and just look like a Ford Edge or Explorer with a Bronco badge.

Yeah, hopefully they do it justice. There's a lot riding on the new Ranger design, so hopefully it's better than the Compass/Edge/Explorer classes.

I had an 82 Bronco. Worst POS Ford ever built with the VV carb system and 326 gears in an off road vehicle. Even in mud, you couldn't turn the tires because of the hi gear ratio. Thank God the tranny was bullet proof as I had to neutral slam it on occasion to get wheel spin to get unstuck.
The VV carb system locked wide open coming from the eastern part of the state and flooded the cylinder walls with raw gas making sure I had to replace the engine.
Bored to a 380, eledebrock manifold, 750 CFM Holley carb and a 3/4 marine cam for low rpm performance rounded out the package. Ran real fine after that and got better mpg.

Although I could never afford it, I could get interested in something like this.

The Bronco never had a solid axle after 79, only 2 years of the FSB bronco had a solid front. The first several years had very undersized solid axles. Price would also go up considerably considering Ford doesn't offer anything with a solid axle that isn't a 3/4 or bigger. Bronco was always based off the half ton F-series, which doesn't have a solid axle. Raptor doesn't even offer a solid axle. I see it with the coyote motor, same undercarriage and sharing parts with the f150. I also see SVT dropping the raptor within the first year or two and doing something with this. Think of this as a restomod. All the looks of the old stuff, but fancier, more reliable, all the creature
comforts. It's not gonna be priced in jeep territory, upgraded and wheeled on the weekends.

Solid Dana 30 front axle from 66'-mid 71', solid axle Dana 44 from mid 71'- 77'. Full width solid Dana 44 in 78'-79', then on to the IFS Dana 44 until 96'. 66'-77' were they're own U-body design, not based off of the F100's. 78'-96' yep based on the f150's.

It will likely be a rebadged Ford Everest and the Ranger will be the same Ranger currently available overseas. So basically it'll be a $40,000+ version of my wife's 08 Explorer. I'll keep my '94.
