So I've been reading and apparently my 7.62 SCAR-H SD will work well on 5.56 (well enough to try it out that is - I've heard a couple of folks talk about pretty good results online).
Problem is that there's only one 51 tooth MITER connector for 5.56 barrels and its made for the SPR/M4.
Now the 7.62 version is offered in only one barrel-thread option:
5/8-24 TPI (for the AR-10).
But the 5.56 version is offered in only one barrel-thread option as well:
1/2-28 TPI (standard AR-15).
Here's my question - will my 7.62 SCAR-H SD screw onto a 5.56 MITER flash-hider, or will I have to butcher up an AR barrel in order to get a 7.62 MITER connector on it (in a thread-pattern that I won't use with anything else ever and is really just to try this out)?
I've only got one 16" barrel and I'm not looking to screw it up, so any help is definitely appreciated at this point - I'm willing to go out and pick up a 16" barrel to make this work (and chop it down to a 14.5" after I'm done) so that I don't have to screw up an existing nice barrel.
