Why are the people at Dong's so rude?

Never had a problem at Dong's, but I realize to some they may not come off as the friendliest bunch around. I've bought four guns, including one special order, and never had an issue. Their prices may be a higher than the internet, but were on par with other shops in town (at least for my purchases). The only place I've ever been lied to and treated poorly is Sooner Guns, but many of you guys like that place. :anyone:

Current favorite shops are TK's and Sports World, but if I need something and Dong's has it I'd go there without hesitation.

I purchased a firearm on Gunbroker and had it sent to Mark at Sooner Guns for the FFL transfer ($25). He ridiculed what I bought and insisted that his merchandise was just as good for less money, although he had never seen or fired one of what I had purchased.

That was the only time I've experienced him being less than courteous but I guess I can understand somewhat, seeing as how he lost a sale when I didn't buy from him. I get my PMC ammo and magazines from him. He also offers layaway plans on all firearms which I tend to use when I decide on which pistol I want.

I dig Sooner Guns also.

I understand you can't make everyone happy, but when every couple of months a thread pops up and hundreds of people bash the place for being rude a-holes and 3 dudes say they have good experiences you can't assume the masses are all crazy. I think the 3 dudes just got lucky a few times and I am glad of that for them but the rest of us weren't so lucky, BUMMER. It sucks to because they do have some cool stuff. I just can't give a place like that my business.

If there are any folks reading this here thread what gots smarts real good, it would be nice if you could solve the mystery once and for all using the scientific method. Is Dong's a worthless sack of yak poop or is it OK? The reports in this thread alone seem unusually polarised.

Agreed, I went in there the other day & the tall older gentleman was very helpful & informative.

Honestly I just think some people have trouble dealing with personalities that just dont mesh with theirs. But honestly, your in there to buy a gun, not play pattycake & make friends. So you shouldnt expect royal treatment just b/c your a customer. But thats just my point of view.

If I'm making a $400-$1500 purchase they'd damn well better show me that they appreciate my business. If they don't OPS, Sooner, or Medlocks will.

Yup. Especially when the $700 purchase would be a $500 purchase at OPS. If Dong's had good prices on things I wouldn't care as much that they're rude.

I'm not an especially nice person IRL but if I go into a smaller store (like a liquor or gun store) I at least try to smile and greet the guy behind the counter. If I'm pretending to be happy to see you, and you can't pretend to be happy to see me, that's not fair. Put in the effort.
