There's nothing wrong with carrying one wherever you go, but to pretend that taking a firearm in the shower with you is "preparedness" and not "paranoia" is a matter of perspective, I guess. I keep one close enough - but not that close.

I still say I have a much better chance of injury or death in traffic....and I'm not afraid to drive every day. To each his own. Problem now is, all of the thugs reading this thread know I "eliminate" unarmed......

I get that, but take Rednecks recent post about the home invasion on their property. That intruder laid in waiting for the man and vehicle to leave the house in order to better his chances of achieving whatever it was that he was after.
The exact same thing applies when your bathroom light pops on and an invader sees the windows steam up(I know with some of you this may happen in the bathroom without the shower).
There are very few "smart" criminals, but an experienced one will take a better opportunity through observation.

I hate the phone - I rarely answer it if I'm sitting next to it. And not on the crapper.

Most of this is in humor, because I can't believe people are so scared of some boogeyman that they'll put their 1911 in a ziplock so they can pack it in the shower with them, or take it with them to squeeze. I have an idea: if a guy would just wear Depends, he could do his business and still be tactically ready in case a bad guy might happen to kick the door in. But then you gotta change it sometime, and who's to say that that's not when you'll get jumped? Maybe you could set up a "phone a friend" network, so someone can come over and stand guard at the door while you purge?

I'm just saying not everyone is in the same situation as you. you sound like your saying home invasions don't happen rather than I will run and get my gun if it does. both of which are ridiculous anyway. even if you had a alarm system. i would bet u have never been in a home invasion situation. do u wait till the dog barks to load your firearm too, or get it out the safe. bad guys bet on that type of ignorance.
