Its these damn video games these kids play.

It's the parents not taking time to raise their kids right! They work 60-80 hours a week and expect the schools and daycares to teach them everything they need to know. I have worked with kids for more than a decade and with out exception the ones that have problems are the ones that have little to no real connection with their parents...especially their fathers. Kids make their own decisions and should be held responsible for the choices they make but it is our job as parents to teach them what choices are good and bad. I teach the parents of our students that one of the most important things to teach their kids is that 1) We all have choices to make, 2) Those choices, good or bad, have concequences, and 3) We must live with those consequences. I always seem to get two responses to that. a) Wow, I never really thought about that, or b) I don't want my kid to suffer through the consequences of his/her actions.

We had guns and drugs at my middle and high schools in the 90s. The majority of the time, those who knew didn't snitch and nothing came of it. This kind of stuff happens far more often than parents and others realize.

This.

And sometimes, the "good" kids would get let off the hook while the "bad" kids would get the book thrown at them for a relatively minor offense.

In my HS in late 60's, early 70's, there were guns in the gun racks.
I remember a friend showing me his .357 he had stuck under
his front seat.

But some transfer kid showed up with a .38 stuck down his waistband. He
showed us in P.E. class but disappeared shortly after. We all thought it
was nuts to carry a gun into school. Even though the parking lot would
have stocked a medium sized gun shop.

Whenever I hear about a kid with a gun at school it ALWAYS happens at a school. Schools need to be banned! :police2:

And did he have a high capacity magazine!? Hmm... probably not because I haven't heard any more gun control nuts screaming about it.
