2001 Chevy Stuck in 4WD Low...

I'm not a Chebby guy, but my patrol truck is a 2001 Z71. Some how it is stuck in 4-Low and I can't get the thing to kick back to 4 High.

I pulled a guy out of a ditch, and it was after this that it wouldn't kick back over. I did give it a few good jerks (insert joke here).

Anyhow... any help would be appreciated as I'm working all night.

Push button? and in low 20 mph is as fast as you want to go. have to be in N to shift into low or out of low. if push button.

Try putting it in reverse and backing up to unlock the hubs. They hang up sometimes.

I assume you tried reverse?

I don't know the situation but this isn't the conditions you'd typically use 4 lo.

Hope you didn't trash the transfer case.

Electronic or mechanical shift for the transfer case?

Have you tried driving backward several feet after making the shift?

First, did you give them a ticket?

You did put the truck in neutral to take it out of 4 lo, right?

If it is the push button, did you try to go from low to auto? Sometimes the switches will hang up in the Chevys.

It is indeed a push button. I am "pretty" sure I tried clicking it in N, but I will try it again.

I tried that, going from F to R, but no go. But... I can't get enough traction for it to really jerk the drive line.

You can also get it rolling and put it in neutral. If the wheels are spinning at all it may not shift up. Push the button while it is rolling.
